Recommended Reading

All pupils are expected to read for at least 20 minutes a night and record their reading in their school planners. We also encourage them to gain a reading passport. In Y5 and Y6 this entails reading 10 books of different genres and in Y7 and Y8 they have to read 15 books.

We thank all parents in advance for their support.

There are several recommended websites that support reading. They provide some great ideas as to how you can help your child with reading.

We have listed below books that are in the top 100 books children should be encouraged to read (Daily Telegraph). Many of them are in our school library but others can be borrowed from a local library or bought at any good bookshop. However, all reading is good reading!
