Leave of Absence for holidays during term time
All the schools in the Hexham Partnership have agreed to adopt, in line with new regulations, a common policy for leave of absence during term time.
Regulations from September 2013 state that a head teacher "may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances."
The regulations make it very clear that parents do not have the right or entitlement to take a child out of school for family holidays.
